PRTR Project Focal Points Webinar

December, as the EPRTR project undertook its first webinar.

The scenes leading up to the 1500hrs broadcast time were of organised chaos as the time set up the broadcast system to facilitate simultaneous translation of the international expert’s presentations.

It was a real steep learning curve for the MoEU PRTR team who were excellent in hosting their first webinar. They dealt quickly and effectively to resolve the problems of connectivity and sound quality at the outset of the webinar.

The event was hosted by Betul Keskin Çatal, Senior EPRTR Expert at the MoEU and she was ably assisted by Tahsin Serkan Kocaemre, Senior EPRTR Expert, who provided first class technical support to participants throughout the event.

The idea of the event was to try and reach out to those project Focal Points who were beyond the boundaries of the Ankara province and to better engage them with the project through this project progress report.

It was a full agenda, see below, based on the 5 themes of the Sept/October workshops and there was an opportunity for a question and answer session at the webinar conclusion which Betul Keskin Catal moderated.

There were some really positive contributions from the focal points on the key issues raised in the presentations. We look forward to a continued positive and productive relationship with the project focal points and to the next project focal point webinar.

The webinar lasted around 1 hour and was attended by 19 participants.

The project team are grateful to Nesrin Yılmaz Aslan and her staff for hosting the event from the Golbasi project office. It is an excellent event and there was a really good participation level for such a specialised subject matter.

The project team are hopeful that these Project Focal Point webinars will be a continuing component of the project activities in 2018.
