Industry Sector and NGO Workshop – 2nd and 3rd of October 2017, Ankara
The 2nd and 3rd of October 2017 saw the PRTR project host two 2-day technical workshops on PRTR in Ankara. This workshop was dedicated to representatives of industry, trade associations and civil society groups. The workshops were attended by representatives from across Turkey representing a broad group of industry sectors.
These workshops were part of an ongoing consultation process for the project team on a number of key project outputs.
The workshops were held at the Hotel Wyndham in Ankara and the representatives from the various stakeholder groups were excellent and made a really positive and encouraging contribution to the workshop sessions. It was extremely pleasing to the project team to have such high quality technical engagement and hopefully all parties benefitted from the two events.
All presentations from the workshop will be available on this website and further workshop/seminar sessions will be held throughout Turkey in 2018. These events will facilitate further disseminate of the project deliverables and another opportunity to consult a stakeholder group on the key outputs of this technical assistance project.
There were 5 themed workshop groups hosted by international and national experts. At each workshop groups there was a series of key issues to be discussed with, and in some cases questionnaires to be completed by, the delegates. In this way their opinions were sought on the key issues related to the project deliverables and outputs.
It seemed from the positive engagement around the workshop tables in these themed sessions that the Provincial Directorate representatives were pleased with the opportunity to discuss key issues with so many international and national experts who were present at the events.
The thematic workshop groups were as follows:

The workshop sessions were well received by the delegates and there were some excellent discussions throughout the sessions. There are now a number of follow up actions for the project team from the workshops and also a significant amount of quality feedback to be analysed in the context of the consultation processes currently ongoing.
The project team look forward to a continued close co-operation with both industry and civil society.
