Provincial Directorate and Clean Air Center Workshops Ankara, 26th & 27th September 2017
The 26th & 27th September 2017 saw the PRTR project host two 2-day technical workshops on PRTR in Ankara. These were dedicated to the representatives, and project focal points, from the Provincial Directorates and Clean Air Centers across Turkey. The workshops were attended by representatives from across the 81 Provinces of Turkey. These workshops were part of an ongoing consultation process for the project team on a number of key project outputs.
The workshops were held at the Hotel Wyndham in Ankara and the representatives from the Provincial Directorates and Clean Air Centers were excellent and made a really positive and encouraging contribution to the workshop sessions. It was extremely pleasing to the project team to have such high quality technical engagement and hopefully all parties benefitted from the two events.
There were 5 themed workshop groups hosted by international and national experts. At each workshop group there was a series of key issues to be discussed with, and in some cases questionnaires to be completed by, the delegates. In this way their opinions were sought on the key issues related to the project deliverables and outputs.
It appeared from the positive engagement around the workshop tables in these themed sessions that the Provincial Directorate and Clean Air Center representatives were pleased with the opportunity to discuss key issues with so many international and national experts who were present at the events.

The workshop sessions were well received by the delegates and there were some excellent discussions throughout the sessions. There are now a number of follow-up actions for the project team from the workshops and also a significant amount of quality feedback to be analysed in the context of the consultation processes currently ongoing.
The project team look forward to a continued close co-operation with the focal points from the Provincial Directorates.
