Activity 2.5. Internship Program

A 3-week internship program was organized in Madrid, Spain under Activity 2.5 of the Project to be able to examine the implementations in the European Union more closely.

A 3-week internship program was organized in Madrid, Spain under Activity 2.5 of the Project to be able to examine the implementations in the European Union more closely. The internship program was carried out in three separate one-week missions so as to better observe how PRTR is implemented by different stakeholders.

The first mission of the internship program was carried out on 01-07 June 2018 and contacts were made with the Directorates of Catalonia, Murcia, Valencia, Madrid, Andalucía, and Aragón Autonomous Regions that are responsible for verifying the PRTR Reports. During the visit, the following issues were examined.

Scope of PRTR in Autonomous Regions
How verification processes are handled
Guidelines submitted to facilities for reporting
Public-industry relationship
Using PRTR data

The second mission of the internship program was carried out on 21-27 October 2018. Within the scope of this mission, the tasks on the implementation of E-PRTR, of the Ministry, which is responsible for the approval of the PRTR Reports in Spain, were discussed. The following issues were discussed in detail with relevant experts:
