Closing Event – Web Article

The closing event of the “Technical Assistance for Capacity Building on European Pollutant Release and Transfer Register in Turkey (E-PRTR) Project” “TR2013/0327.06.01-02” that is conducted by the Directorate General of Environmental Impact Assessment, Permit and Inspection of the MoEU was held on April 12, 2019 in Ankara. Participated in the event are the Provincial Directorates of the Environment and Urbanization, Ministries, NGOs, Industrial Associations and Units of the MoEU.

Opening remarks were given by Mr. Tomas KOWALCZEWSKI as the representative of NIRAS on behalf of NIRAS IC Sp. z o.o, Atmoterm S.A. and Rast Mühendislik Hizmetleri Ltd. consortium; Mr. Tibor SZTARICSKAI, as the Deputy Head of Section, Economic and Social Development on behalf of the Delegation of the European Union to Turkey; and Mr. Ercan GÜLAY Director General of Environmental Impact Assessment, Permit and Inspection on behalf of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization respectively.

In the closing event it was emphasized that PRTR-Turkey is a very important step for Turkey towards achieving a full Environmental Legislation and practices. The event was concluded with the presentations delivered by the Head of Laboratory, Measuring and Monitoring Department, Mr. Soner OLGUN on “Project Results and Lessons Learned”; by the leader expert of the project Mr. Scott CROSSETT on “Summary of the Project Results”; and by the technical expert Mr. H. Bülent KADIOĞLU on “General Overview on the PRTR Regulation and Reporting Software”.
